The Master of Teaching Student Association (MTSA) is a student organization dedicated to representing the students of the Master of Teaching (MT) program at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) in Toronto, Ontario. Through social, academic, and professional development opportunities, we cater to enrich students' time at OISE to make it a truly memorable and valuable journey. We represent your voice when working with faculty and professors within OISE and The University of Toronto. We are happy to help with any questions, or feedback regarding the MT experience, so please do not hesitate to reach out to us!
About
The MTSA was formed by students within the Masters of Teaching program. Every year, elections are held for those who want to represent their fellow peers and take on leadership roles within the MT community. Students interested will have to apply and include a brief statement as to why they are fit for the role. MT students then select the MTSA members for each school year. MTSA elections for 2022-2023 will take place at the end of the year. Look out for the emails or PeppeR notifications.
The MTSA holds events throughout the year for first year orientation, social events and gatherings, academic and professional development sessions, workshops and information sessions.
Looking to get involved in a leadership role? Become a Cohort Representative. Each cohort requires two cohort representatives to attend meetings with other cohort representatives, the MTSA, and the MT Leadership Team. Here the MT Leadership and the MTSA will provide updates on upcoming events such as practicum, program changes, and other concerns brought up by MT students. If you are interested, send us an email.
